In a small community, next to a tiny chapel, Casa Capella is set on the historic Monte Corona estate, overlooking the Upper Tiber Valley. The house, approached via a 12th century abbey and a winding road up through leafy woodland, is some five kilometres south of the bustling market town of Umbertide. The ancient city of Perugia is half an hour's drive to the south, as is Lago Trasimeno to the southwest.
With its umbrella pines, fresh hillsides of copsed oak, vineyards, fields of sunflowers, and orchards of fruit trees, the surrounding landscape, which is readily accessible from the house, is superb for walking, and mountain-biking, and, for the less agile, for painting, picnicing and relaxing under a tree with a book.
